The trade show and conference industry has still not recovered from the effects of COVID-19. Events scheduled to be held in 2020 have for the most part been cancelled, postponed or converted to a virtual format. As we turn our attention to 2021, we are beginning to see a relaxation of restrictions that will allow in-person events to continue.

SDS is coordinating with our clients and all recommendations provided by the event industry to make onsite registration and usage of data collection equipment as safe as possible. We currently recommend touch-free scanners for onsite registration that allow attendees to wave their barcode and print their badge. For those not bringing a barcode, we recommend that all badges are printed at staff manned positions to reduce the amount of times per day that equipment needs to be sanitized.

Lead retrieval usage is highly recommended for all exhibitors, since collecting business cards will be difficult while COVID remains an issue.
